We specialise in laser cutting and engraving, fabrics and other materials.
We use two 8 metre flat bed tables carrying 200 watt lasers for cutting the
larger panels as required in sails and fabric structures.
Cutting widths up to 1900 mm are possible and with the ability to register
the “frame” ends on the material being cut, we can cut objects of
virtually infinite length. Fabrics range from light nylon and silk to PVC and
sail-fabrics containing Kevlar and Spectra yarns. Some of the materials we can
cut include:
| Acrylics |
Laminates |
Perspex |
Stencils |
| Card |
Leather |
Plexiglas |
Sailcloth |
| Corrugated Board |
Paper |
Silk |
Technical Textiles |
| Decorative Cards |
Many customers do not have access to CAD programs
and only have some measurements or a template of what they want
cut.
This presents no problem as we can either enter the measurements or digitise
the pattern entering the offsets into one of CAD programs. This will then enable
us to create the necessary vector files. If there are a number of pieces to
be cut we nest these to provide the maximum utilisation of the material being
cut.
We were recently sent half of a shape for cutting in the form of a paper pattern.
This we had to digitise and then in CAD produce the full size image. A paper
version was cut and sent to the customer for his approval. One or two small
changes were made and we then cut a short pre production run to show the tight
nesting and cutting pattern produced the desired results. Now we are ready to
cut the shapes in volume.
The same detail is required for all our cutting except, of course, where only
single objects are being cut and nesting is not an issue.
